Whenever I wear red lips I always get a ton of compliments. I don’t think so much that it’s because it looks so good on me, as people are just in love with the idea of classic red lips. It’s elegant, very va-va-voom and not something you see to often nowadays for non-special occasions. For my red lips I start with a Nars Pencil in Dragon Girl and then drag a thick coat of Joey New York Deep Heat (red, not the raspberry) and –voila–it stays on for hours. But there are so many great red out there so definitely try as many as you can. One of my favorite tricks for a more vampy look is to dab my lips with black lipstick to cast a dark tint (remember, dab your lips, don’t coat with a layer of black) and then cover with a red gloss or lipstick. The end result isn’t goth, but dark and sexy.

It can be really hard to see the big picture, especially when it comes to clothing. I held a dress up the other day and had a woman tell me that it looked like a night gown. But in my head I had it all pictured styled out. Wearing it over some colored tights, throw a long sweater cardigan over it, tie it together with a patent leather belt and pair it with some neon colored heels and it would look so hot. Yes, Carolyn New York nail polishes are great in color and use, but I’m more attracted to their names more than anything else. Carolyn Cianciotta, “manicurist to the stars” used her life experiences in New York to create her line of 55 colors. Take the featured “Fashion Week” pink which is a classic pulled together shade for anyone, or “Poppy Chulo” red which is named after a hot Spanish man she dated. I find myself pulled in by her association between color and name because I want to find out the story behind the polish. Sorry! I know it’s been a while since I have posted, I’ve just been so swamped with work and family issues. But when I saw this JimmyJane massage oil candle I had to write about it. It’s a candle that melts into massage oil! How hot is that?? Hot–well, mood-wise at least, because the wax has a low melting point, which means you won’t get burned when you play with the oil. It’s actually suppose to feel warm and soothing. I will definitely be trying it in the near future.

I’ve been wearing black eyeliner since I was 13 years-old. I’m addicted to it and can’t get enough of it. And through all the years of pencils, liquids and gels, I haven’t found the perfect black liner yet, but have found one that is pretty damn close. At the recommendation of an employee of Sephora I purchased Urban Decay’s Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade “Zero” for $15. After I finished it, I went out and bought another one. The color is an intense black which is what I love and it goes on extremely easily. Because my skin is naturally oily, I always have a problems with raccoon eyes after lining my eyes, and while this does happen to me with Urban Decay’s pencil, it has lasted the longest on me before it actually starts to run.
