Whenever I wear red lips I always get a ton of compliments. I don’t think so much that it’s because it looks so good on me, as people are just in love with the idea of classic red lips. It’s elegant, very va-va-voom and not something you see to often nowadays for non-special occasions. For my red lips I start with a Nars Pencil in Dragon Girl and then drag a thick coat of Joey New York Deep Heat (red, not the raspberry) and –voila–it stays on for hours. But there are so many great red out there so definitely try as many as you can. One of my favorite tricks for a more vampy look is to dab my lips with black lipstick to cast a dark tint (remember, dab your lips, don’t coat with a layer of black) and then cover with a red gloss or lipstick. The end result isn’t goth, but dark and sexy.
